Friday Favorites

This is a little late, I got called into work last night, so I spent most of the day sleeping.

Benefit "That Gal" Brightening Face Primer
I got this product in a small size a little over a year ago and I fell in love. It is the perfect primer for me. It brightens my skin and makes it look so pretty. I am not much of a foundation wearer, so this is perfect for me.

Clinique Happy Heart Perfume
This has been my go to perfume for the past few years. I love it. It just smells so pretty and fresh. I think perfume is very personal, and works with your body chemistry. This is my go to everyday scent, I have found others that I love, but this will continue to be my "signature scent."

Too Faced Romantic Eye Collection
Too Faced was really my first introduction to brand makeup. I got a free makeup application at Sephora years ago, and I fell in love with the makeup. This is by far my favorite palette. The colors are just so nice, they can be everyday or for night/special occasion. Honeymoon, a gold shimmer is just such a beautiful color. I love the purples and the browns. This is a must have!

Style Lush
This style blog is written by a group of women who write about a variety of topics; parties, fashion, home decor, kids, vacations, art and all sorts of fun things. This website has led me to some great purchases, bags I love, that one hair product that I love and couldn't find anymore, and so much Etsy. I consistently read Style Lush every day.

Jen Lancaster

Her books make me laugh so so much. She is hilarious, her life is hilarious and I am glad she has let us into it. Read her, I promise you will laugh.

Friday Favorites

Olay Face Moisturizer
Or as it used to be called "Oil of Olay." My mom has always used this, and she has beautiful skin. In fact, I used it up until about 5 years ago when I just needed more moisture in the winter. I still prefer it in the summer, and it is great for my sensitive skin.

Erase Paste by Benefit
I have circles under my eyes, they are dark and make me look old. But Erase Paste is the cure. It is a little heavier then regular concelor and really just hits the nail on the head when it comes to coverage. It is also great for those nasty breakouts. And the little jar is really more then enough, it lasts for a long time. I love this product and am so glad I found it.

Parks and Rec
If you aren't watching this show, you should be. Best show on TV.

I'm tapped today, not sure why but the juices aren't flowing. I will be sure to have more next week.

Grammy Fashions

I love the Grammy fashion, it's a whole different world. Musicians are weird, and I love how some of them dress. But then there are the crazy outfits, which is also what I love. So here are my best and worst fashions.

Best Dressed
Kelly Osbourne
She looks stunning, I love this dress on her. The dress is so pretty and looks perfect on her. I don't mind the hair, but I do prefer her blonde.
Amber Rose
This woman is beautiful. And she looks great in this yellow dress. Please don't look at pictures of her standing next to Wiz Khalifa, cause oh man he is so ugly, but she looks so good.

Paris Hilton
It hearts my heart a little to even say this. But she looks appropriate, like an adult, and pretty damn good.
Beautiful Couple
John Legend and Chrissy Teigan
I don't know who she is but she is gorgeous, and he is so handsome! Together they look amazing.

Best styling
Adele
I don't particularly care for this dress, I didn't even really like her second dress of the night. But her hair and makeup looked wonderful, she is so pretty and looks so so good.

Worst Dressed

Rihanna
I hate this. The hair is horrible, her makeup is horrible and I don't think the dress is super flattering. Boo.

Katy Perry
This dress is unflattering and a bad color. I don't mind the blue hair that much, but not with that horrible dress. No Katy, no!

Taylor Swift
This dress is just too much. She is young and fun, and should be wearing a young fun dress.

Robyn
There is nothing good about this. NOTHING.

Fergie
If this dress was not see through she would look great, her hair looks good, the dress is flattering and a great color on her. But it's SEE THROUGH. And your black granny panties are ugly.

Nars The Multiple in Orgasm

I know, the name is a little fresh (mom.) But this is the BEST. I use it primarily as a blush and it looks great in the summer and in the winter. It brightens my skin and has just enough shimmer. I don't wear it on my lips, too light for me, but I have used it as I highlighter. Even if this isn't the color for you, the Multiple is a great must have for any beauty lover.

Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm

My name is Moira and I am addicted to lip balm. Seriously, it's kind of a problem. Just thinking about this post made me go put some lip balm on...
Anyway, I love this stuff it's so good. It makes my lips feel soft and nice and keeps them moisturized, so what if there is crack in it to keep me coming back. I love it, I have 3 currently one in my bag at work, one next to my bed and one in my purse. And it's only 3 dollars, AND all natural!!!

Starbucks Cafe Mocha

When I first went on the website and saw the nutritional info I almost died. Then I realized I do skim milk, 2 pumps of mocha and no whip (about 250 calories.) Yes, I am one of those people, whose Starbucks order is 7 words long. I don't drink them very often, just when I go to Target or Grocery shopping, as there is no convenient Starbucks near me. The one 10 minutes away has a parking lot the size of a postage stamp and really rude customers. No thanks.
Anyway, I was never a coffee drinker, I stuck to my diet coke, but when I was 20 I started working at a Barnes and Noble that had a Starbucks, and I began to suck down the Mochas. Iced typically, and I had to make them myself. I still love them, they are not too sweet, and you can't go wrong with 3 shots of espresso. Plus it's the only time I drink any milk.

Fudge 1 Shot +

I have fine, thin, chin length hair. Having thin hair I always had the conditioner or not problem, conditioner leaves my hair limp and greasy, but I need the moisture and the de-tangler. I have used a bunch of different leave in conditioners but nothing works as well on the Fudge 1 Shot. They use it at my salon, and I think it makes my hair feel healthier, plus it doesn't look as damaged. It's great for fine hair, it's light but also has the moisture I need.

Pinterest

Like most other people on the Internets, I am obsessed with Pinterest. Also like most other people, I pin a ton of things, to promptly ignore them. So I am very proud of myself for doing my very first Pinterest project. Here is the link to the original idea at Liz Marie Blog. I have too much makeup and too many brushes, this is IDEAL for me, especially since I tend to be a bit of an unorganized mess! So here is my brush holder.

Mine is a little smaller, 4 inches x 4 inches to be exact. I bought mine on Amazon for $6.99, I bought 2 packs of beads online, and there just weren't enough, so I bought 2 more at JoAnn Fabric. I decided not to decorate mine or get another for face brushes, as I don't have that much room on my vanity. I am thrilled with it though.

Friday Favorites

These are a few of my favorite things.

Tarte Lipsurgence Lip Tint

I LOVE this lipstick, they have a few different kinds, matte is my current winter go to. It is long lasting and still leaves my lips soft. I HATE dry lips, I carry chapstick/gloss everywhere I go, but this lip tint leaves me with soft not-dry lips! And ENVY, a mauve - berry, is may favorite color right now.

Minnetonka Sheepskin Slippers
I am always hot, I sweat, I don't wear coats. I am HOT. But my feet get cold, and I hate slippers, until I met these wonderful things. I love them, they are not too hot, very comfortable and just the best. I think I may go buy a new pair right now...

The Bloggess
Seriously, Jenny is freakin' hilarious. I read her blog and I laugh laugh laugh. She is also real, talking about her struggles with mental illness and publishing her book. She rocks. Knock-knock motherfucker.

Ole Henriksen Nurture Me Mositurizer
I am pretty lucky when it comes to my skin, I have really nice skin. I have the rare breakout (more since I turned 30, WTH?!?), and am not too dry or oily. I do have VERY sensitive skin though, if I use the wrong product I breakout, and I never know, organic or chock full of chemical, doesn't make a difference. This face cream is perfect for my skin in the winter, it is thick enough to provide good moisture, but not too thick it overwhelms my face. Plus it smells good, and is paraben and sulfate free. It's a little pricey, and I wouldn't use it in the summer, but it works really well for me in the winter.

Bananagrams
I love this game, it's like a faster version of Scrabble with some twists added in. It's great for a few people or a crowd. And I'm pretty good at it, too!
